Creation
The Story of God's Creation
ST2010
$345

The biblical account of creation begins at the bottom right with darkness and void and continues identifying images from the six days of creation.  Then on the bottom left side....the story of God's creativity continues in the lives of God's children and the witness of the Church.  (You may choose a denominational logo or Celtic cross.)

Celtic Knot (Brittain)

        ST8070   $185

Celtic Knot (Brittain)

This Celtic Knot Stole is created in the tradition of the now popular Celtic braidwork, symbolic of life’s journey and continuity.  Celtic patterns attempt to make sense of the maze of existence and provide a pathway to the divine – much like a labyrinth.  The continuous thread used in such work is appropriate for the Advent season, as we ponder the complex threads of our own lives in preparation for the coming of Christ. Available also in red, white, purple and green                      ST8070   $185

Christmas and Easter

Both Christmas, Easter and the weeks following both follow the white liturgical seasonal colors.  Be sure to look at other stoles that – while not completely white – are consistent with Christmas and Easter themes. (ex.  The Stories of Christmas under Story Stoles; Growth and Rebirth under Green Seasonal)

Green Seasonal Stoles

Green is the color designated for the longest season in the liturgical calendar."  Delete the sentence that begins,   The green liturgical season is the longest one on yearly calendar.  For that reason many pastors like several stoles that are either primarily green or that carry imagery that is consistent with the scriptures used in this season.  You will notice that numerous stoles in this group follow that more thematic description, rather than being green in color.  Also, be sure to check some of the other categories of designs for additional green possibilities.  (ex.  Lotus Blossom under “Multi-Cultural)

Scottish Tartan

The most common Tartan stole we make is from the Clergy Tartan (center blue), however we have access to almost 600 different tartan plaids, so let us know which plaid is special to you and we will make it into a stole.  Order your stole with a denominational logo or celtic cross, or without any symbol.  Symbols are made from ultrasuede for a classic appearance.

ST8060 without symbol     $175

ST8061 with choice of symbol $185

Lotus Blossom (Asia)

The  beautifully embroidered Lotus Blossom is a symbol of beauty from ancient Persia, now the Middle East.  The tantra art form in which it is laid out has, for hundreds of years, supported meditative ritual.  Here In Stitches offers this lovely example of ancient embroidery for Easter, springtime, and “ordinary time” use.

Sari Pentecost (India)

Hand-crafting textiles is the largest industry in India today. The lovely silks used in saris for Indian women are some of the finest examples of fabrics in the world.  This delicately detailed stole illustrates the whimsical side of the Genesis story of the flood.  It is enjoyed by children and adults alike and can be worn throughout the year to coincide with themes of newness, repentance, "call", and faithfulness. This Saris Pentecost Stole uses these fabrics to celebrate the on-going birth of the church worldwide!  ST7060   $165

Egyptian Prayer Rug

This Egyptian Prayer Rug Stole is inspired by an ancient heirloom.  Such curved, geometric designs were introduced into the Middle East in the 2nd century and are still central to this Islam-influenced culture.  The beauty and color of this piece provides a multi-cultural reminder of the life of prayer by persons around the world.

ST7051   $245

ANDINKRA (Ghana)
